Picture your success
Thoughts are bossy. Your subconscious mind is like an eager intern. It does whatever you tell it. Keep saying, “I’m stupid,” and it will file that as policy and play it on loop. Picture a win instead, and it will rehearse the victory. Athletes do this all the time: They see the court, the shoes, the exact jump. They don’t just hope, they rehearse the movie. I had a stuck movie: Me at age 7, crying over addition, Dad yelling, “What are you…stupid?!” That clip ran for years. Now when it pops up, I imagine a giant DELETE button and click it. Then I load a new clip — me calm, confident, and nailing the answer. Do it every day, every night: your subconscious mind works full time. Let it bring you success.
Do this 3 step exercise:
- See the unwanted image.
- Picture a big red DELETE button. Press it.
- Play the new scene: You, confident, calm, doing the thing. Repeat throughout the day and at bedtime.
Direct your mind like a director, cast yourself as the lead, not the blooper.
